2006 H-2B Visa Cap Reached
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services have just announced that the cap on H-2B visas has been reached for 2006, a total of 33,000 visas for the second half of the year.
The H-2B visa program permits employers to hire foreign workers to fill one-time, peak-load, intermittent or seasonal positions when no available workers are available from the local labor markets. Returning workers, eligible as such if they counted against the cap between October 1, 2002 and September 30, 2005, are exempt from H-2B limitations.
