IT Employment Candidates Finding CIOs to be Sticklers

A spate of recent surveys has shown a developing relationship between CIOs and the skilled IT employees they hire. One survey showed that CIOs are placing much more emphasis on business fundamentals, with 41% noting that the importance they place on business basics, such as accounting and business operations, has increased in the past five years.

Another survey concluded that CIOs are willing to do just about anything to keep their IT employees happy, with one exception. Large bonuses are out as a means of keeping employees happy, but training and professional development, flexible working schedules and base pay increases are being heavily utilized as a means of employee retention.
